The iPhone is better than a Blackberry
Monday, November 17, 2008Google Mobile App for iPhone, now with voice recognition
Here are five reason’s why the iPhone trumps the Blackberry:
- Touch screen – the interaction on the iPhone is totally awesome, and it’s all thanks to the fantastic touch screen, you can type super fast once you get used to it and the pinch, scroll, zoom stuff is simply brilliant
- Operating System – the iPhone OSX is basically a mini version of the Mac operating system, the best OS in the world
- Multimedia – the iPhone is a truly multimedia experience, sync with iTunes and get music, video and podcasting joy, but the real gem is the App store, stay tuned for the updated Google Mobile App with voice recognition
- Browsing – you can pretty much access any Web site as you would on a desktop computer, but more importantly many companies are optimising their sites for the iPhone because it’s the first decent mobile browsing experience
- Cool factor – let’s face it, the iPhone look and feel is second to none, it’s a truly beautiful device
- Bonus – Enterprise integration, ok so the iPhone may not offer as many features as the Blackberry for Enterprise, but unless you’re a door to door salesperson, who needs all that additional functionality anyway!

Twitter. Huh?
Monday, November 17, 2008
So you’ve heard about this new micro-blogging service called Twitter? Or may be you haven’t. Well here’s a brief 101 which might help you understand how you can leverage the power of Twitter for your business.
Professionally
Carl, our Sydney GM, uses Twitter to keep in touch with industry colleagues who often post useful information and links. It’s also a great way of seeking help or advice, by posting a question on Twitter, your followers can respond and offer ideas.
Marketing
Businesses can post news and announcements via Twitter, new products, sales, promotions etc.
Customer service
Companies can use it as a way to build relationships with their customers, receive feedback and ideas and suggestions.
Here’s a great example of how Twitter was used in the recent US election countdown by Tropicana: http://anorangeamerica.com/ the idea here was to track keywords related to either candidate and to display them using info-graphics, whilst linking it cleverly to the brand message ‘Freshly Squeezed Election Tweets: We’re not red. We’re not blue. We’re 100% orange.’
